downloadRoger L. “Chip” Mitchell is the Owner and Administrator of ComForCare Home Care of Northwest Georgia.  A native of Rome, Chip attended Shorter University where he earned a Bachelor of Church Music, Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Business Administration.  Chip is married to Anne Marie Mitchell who teaches Spanish at Berry Elementary and Middle School.  They have three boys, Raleigh, Sam, and Luke.

After serving as a music teacher in the Floyd County School System, Chip returned to Shorter working in the Development and Alumni Offices. Chip worked his way up from managing alumni and donor data to being the Director of Alumni Services and Development.  In this role Chip got to meet and work with many wonderful alumni, but his fondest memories are getting to know Shorter’s oldest graduates.

In working with the senior population at both Shorter University and as Deacon and Music Director at his church, Chip developed many relationships with seniors and as he learned more about their needs found his way to the private duty home care service industry.  Having had relationships with seniors who had positive experiences with private duty home care agencies as well as seeing firsthand the heart break involved when a trusted longtime privately hired caregiver embezzled many thousands of dollars leaving a previously well-off donor almost penniless, Chip decided to do his part to make sure no senior he cared about was taken advantage of again.

Through months of research, Chip decided to become part of the ComForCare team by investing in a franchise for the Northwest Georgia area.  Since its founding in 1996, ComForCare Home Care has been supporting independence, dignity and quality of life for its clients and families in over 150 offices around the USA, Canada, and the UK.  In addition to the training provided by ComForCare at it’s home office in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Chip trained for and received his CNA license so that he would be uniquely qualified in the skill set required of caregivers both in making hiring decisions, evaluating caregivers, and interacting with clients.

Chip also proudly serves as the President of the Bettye Reed Scholarship Foundation and as a member of the Senior Promotions Council of the Rome/Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority.
